 What started as a small group of believers meeting in each other's living rooms became a little church on 112 N. Anniston Ave. This small group, led by Pastor Bryan Taunton, felt like the Lord was guiding us to plant a new church in Sylacauga, AL. So one night, we stood in Pastor Bryan's living room clasping hands in a circle, facing outward. United in faith, we prayed that if it was the Lord's will for us to establish a new church body that He would provide a place for us to meet. The next morning, our pastor received a phone call from a lady who had heard about our church gatherings and wanted to give us a building to use rent-free. It was a storefront building with offices, but it was perfect for us! Thus, Christ Point Community Church was established in 2010. We created an administrative team and wrote our by-laws which you can read here on our website. A few years into using the facility for services and mission-work, we were able to purchase the building and quickly pay it off, making us completely debt-free. 

Our goal as a church is to carry out the great commission as Christ commands us to do in Matthew 28:19-20. In order to achieve this goal, we have a "glocal" mindset: transforming lives locally to make a global impact as we work from the inside out to grow the kingdom of God. We do this by holding weekly Bible study; weekly services for praise, worship, teaching, and fellowship; supporting local missions; and by supporting foreign missionaries. 

Our teaching is Truth. It is not a sugar-coated gospel, but instruction based upon the Holy Word of God. We do not beat around the bush, but the Truth will be preached in love.
